New Business:
Visitor for 2nd year in a row from Canada: Fred
Wilson. He is the Canadian Accident Analyst. He is
also an USHGA member because he is retired and flies extensively in the
USA. He and Dave are working on a web site for accident
reporting for the USA / N. America. Also brought a
visitation site report on his computer for the evening’s
entertainment. Beautiful pictures of British Colombia’s many
flying sites. He has invited our club up to fly them
all. Dave made a motion to extend our thanks to Fred
by giving him honorary membership in the club. The motion
passed.
New meeting night: Due to 3 scheduling conflicts
with rooms at Pugsley's we checked with management and found the
1st Thursday to be the most available and compatible with the member’s
schedules. So the Meeting is moving in March and will
be on March 3rd at 7:00 PM at Pugsley's.
Fred Wilson suggested and we discussed different meeting
formats to bring out more pilots. He suggested we have
campouts / meetings at different flying sites each month on the
weekends. We had trouble finding more than one local
site. We also discussed advertising hg and pg on local
TV / Newspapers. Further discussion next month.
Buffalo Mtn work weekend on March 26th. Try and be there to help clean up and fly.
Tony said he would plan another Texas Shootout this year… date undetermined so far.
The Texas Open is scheduled to be at Leakey again.
Dave is going to the BOD meeting next month. Let him know what's on your mind for the national organization.
Meeting dismissed for slide show at 8:25 PM
