NTHGPA Meeting Minutes January 2005

7PM                            8 members present:  
1.    Officer elections: 
a.    Nominations were taken and accepted by acclimation.  Acceptance motion was by Dave Broyles and seconded by Gary Scheer.
b.    New Officers are:
i.    President :  Abe Hutchins
ii.    VP:  Greg Chastain
iii.    Secretary:  Warren Puckett
iv.    Web Page Editor: Pete Hammer
v.    Treasurer:  Gary Scheer
2.    Treasurer report:  $2870 before dues paid tonight.  No Outstanding Debts.
3.    Old Business:
a.    Parachute Clinic:   March 18-19th.   Friday 6-9 PM and Sat 8 AM – 9 PM.  Presenters:  Betty Pfieffer and Dave Broyles.  Cost: $50 per head.   (if you have 2 heads = $100)   Location:  Story Elementary.  Directions-on US75 north of Dallas, in Allen, Exit 33, east on Bethany Rd 3.2 miles, north on Malone (CR 261) .65 miles. b.    Awards for 2004:   Certificates will be developed and awarded.
i.    Most Valuable Member / Mr. Husle Meet Director: Tony Estrada
ii.    XC King– Greg Chastain
iii.    Airtime King – Abe Hutchins
iv.    Aluminum Statue Artist – Keith Brown
v.    Hang Gliding Rookie Award – Rob McQuirk
vi.    Paragliding Bagwing Award – Andy
vii.    Instructor Award – Dave Broyles
viii.    Permanent Honorary Member / Gonna’ Miss Him Award – John Russell
ix.    Phoenix Award – Warren Puckett
4.    New Business:
a.    President “Honest” Abe & members set the goals for the year.
i.    Revitalize and invite all USHGA members that are not a regular part of the club to our meetings and fold.
ii.    Plan for another Intra-Region Fly-in / meet like the Texas Shootout.   Maybe a North Texas Club meet.
iii.    Road Trips – Alamogordo / Guads this spring.
iv.    Local site – Everyone try to find a local dirt road to use for towing.
b.    News letter vs. Webpage
i.    Discussion and perspectives were discussed on the idea of starting to produce both a hard copy newsletter and an information package for incoming and interested pilots.   Some felt the club web page needed updating:  Pete asked for stories/ news from the club members to update the page.
ii.    Subcommittee put together to investigate this issue and see what info needed to be included on both.   Members:  Pete, Dave & Abe.

c.    Annual Dues are due:  $20 to Gary.    Buff dues are due to Dan:  $60
d.    New meeting night will need to be done due to overbooking at Pugsleys on Tuesdays.   Abe will check to see when they have the room available.
